Ben comes to DSK from Shepley Bulfinch with a background in healthcare design, having worked closely with several healthcare institutions in the Boston area. He especially enjoys the direct interaction with clients, to help them translate their complex needs and desires into cohesive designs and healthy functional places. Ben brings to DSK his extensive experience of designing within BIM (Building Information Modeling) platforms, and a keen interest in contextual and sustainable design.
He was a member of Team Boston’s 2009 Solar Decathlon team, a collaboration between the Boston Architectural College and Tufts University to design and build a solar-powered home. He also received his LEED NC from the Green Building Certification Institute in 2009. Ben received his Masters of Architecture degree from the BAC in 2011, where he focused on interstitial spaces between the built and natural environments. He is actively working towards licensure and registration.
Outside of the office, Ben enjoys hiking and skiing in the Whites, and brewing beer. He is currently designing and building a timber-frame cabin with his family for a lakeside property in Maine.
