The conversion of a 100-year old horse barn into a single-family house.
The footprint of the barn was extended to create an additional space for a family room and a master bedroom. A new three-car garage was also added to the site and is connected to the barn with a covered breezeway and deck above.
The “upside down” space puts the living rooms and kitchen on the upper level to take advantage of the lofty barn volumes. Many of the original features of the old barn were preserved both inside and out.
